I/O Modules - Unmatched Process Connection with Experion Input/Output Families

Honeywell provides unmatched process connection capabilities through a comprehensive selection of Input/Output (I/O) families and modules. These flexible, robust, deterministic, and highly available process connection solutions are designed to address the most demanding process application needs of the users.

Honeywell's newest Universal I/O module, based on Universal Channel Technology, reduces or eliminates marshalling. More importantly, it allows immediate configuration without the need for additional hardware. Click on the Demo tab to view videos describing how this new technology can reduce marshalling and equipment needed.

What Is It?
Experion® provides five fully-integrated I/O families in a wide-range of form factors, mounting styles, and with a comprehensive set of functions, features, environmental ratings, certifications, and module types:
• Series-C
• Rail I/O Series-A (RIOM-A)
• Rail I/O Series-H (RIOM-H)
• Chassis Series-A I/O (CIOM-A)
• Process Manager I/O (PMIO)
Users can pick the solution that is most appropriate for their specific process application. In many cases, I/O families can be mixed and implemented within the same control processor to provide maximum flexibility while minimizing installed cost. Support for legacy I/O allows the users to protect their investments and evolve to Experion at a pace that makes most sense for their plant and people.

How Does It Work?
All families of I/O Modules can fully integrate with the Experion control processors and the user HMI. In addition, integration with many of the leading open fieldbus networks and smart digital device protocols such as HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and PROFIBUS is enabled. Users can optionally implement the networks and I/O modules in a redundant configuration to benefit from high availability and a topology providing no single point of failure for multiple control points.
Honeywell provides a comprehensive set of standard detail displays for I/O modules, smart devices, and I/O-related components for faster commissioning and more value right out of the box. Its benefits are augmented with comprehensive asset management and troubleshooting support solutions and time and cost-saving engineering tools and utilities.

What Problems Does It Solve?
Experion I/O Modules offer users a selection of robust and flexible products that guarantee reduced footprint, simpler and low-cost installation and maintenance, and longer life. All I/O modules and components are industrial grade and robust, and Honeywell provides redundancy for when the I/O and process signals are essential to the safe and optimal operation of the process.
